Beirut - A bomb exploded in a church in Beirut's eastern suburbs yesterday just a few minutes after a Mass was celebrated there, killing one man, an eyewitness said. The source said the blast in the Saint Georgious church in the Dekwaneh area occurred as a 67-year-old church deacon tried to open a suspect bag left there. He was killed outright.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bomb attack, the first in Beirut for more than two years.
