Bin collections in Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown are likely to resume tomorrow after proposals to resolve the dispute were today endorsed by the workers union SIPTU.
SIPTU’s Mr John Glennon said the strike committee will be recommending an acceptance of the proposals after 15 hours of negotiation with County Council.
The Labour Relations Commission will be informed of the development, he added.
"Under the proposals, all outstanding issues will either be addressed immediately or within an agreed time-frame. The proposals will also provide for a new industrial relations procedure to bring about far better relationships with the Human Resources personnel and the Director of Services responsible for each section," Mr Glennon said.
"The people in Dun Laoghaire and Rathdown will no longer be inconvenienced because of the way in which the County Council have done their business," he added.
The dispute led to the temporary closure of the Dean’s Grange and Shanganagh cemeteries because of pickets and public parks under the control of the authority were also closed.
Services are likely to resume tomorrow.
