Forfeiture of vehicles, an unlimited fine and up to 10 years in prison are provided for in a bill to combat illegal trafficking in immigrants, to be published by the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform today. The provisions in the Illegal Immigrants (Trafficking) Bill will apply to anybody who organises or knowingly facilitates the entry into the State of a person whom he or she knows to be an illegal immigrant.
