Spanish giant Telefonica is reportedly considering a partial flotation of Big Brother TV company Endemol.

Spanish giant Telefonica is reportedly considering a partial flotation of Big Brother TV company Endemol.

According to Spanish newspaper Cinco Dias, Endemol's 99.47 per cent-owner Telefonica will seek a listing for 30 per cent of the unit before the end of this year.

The paper said Telefonica has refused to comment on the report.

In a presentation to analysts last week, Telefonica chairman Mr Cesar Alierta said he did not consider it necessary for the group to retain a majority stake in its media units.

In the first-half to June 30th, Endemol reported a 17 per cent decline in revenue to €350 million from a year earlier.
