Mr Gerrit Isenborger, the German national at the centre of the three day siege near Bawnboy, Co Cavan, last month was remanded on continuing bail until April 24th at Cavan District Court yesterday.

Mr Isenborger, of Ballyleenan, Bawnboy, is charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life on January 15th.

He also faces charges of causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Thomas Owens, Cavan county sheriff and two others by discharging a loaded firearm with intent to maim, disfigure or disable them.
