The last wishes of a Bristol couple were fulfilled yesterday when their ashes were scattered on the river Moy estuary off Bartra Island in Co Mayo.
Mr P.J. Leonard told his wife, Susan, he wished to have his ashes scattered opposite the island where he had camped as a youth in his native Ballina.
Susan died a short time later. The couple were both in their late 60s.
