Army makes safe device in Dublin

The Army bomb disposal team today made safe a viable improvised explosive device in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin.

The Army bomb disposal team today made safe a viable improvised explosive device in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin.

The Defence Forces deployed the army bomb disposal team to a residence in Rossmore Drive in Ballyfermot in response to a request by the gardaí.

The team arrived at 11.50am and removed the device from outside a private residence. The scene was declared safe at 1.15pm.

The device was removed to a secure location for further examination after which time the remains of the device will then be handed over to the gardaí for their investigations.
