Armed robbery at Kildare stadium

Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery at Newbridge Greyhound Stadium last night.

Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery at Newbridge Greyhound Stadium last night.

Four men entered the stadium shortly before 10.30pm wearing balaclavas and gloves. One was armed with a double barrel shotgun and one was armed with a slash hook. The gamg escaped with an undisclosed amount of money belonging to the Tote.

Staff and patrons were threatened during the course of the robbery. Gardai say the gang made their getaway in a blue BMW.

The car was located at Roseberry, Newbridge at 1am.

Gardai have called on anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information to offer to contact Gardaí at Newbridge.
