An armed bank robber and drug dealer has been jailed for 10 years by Judge Frank O'Donnell at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

An armed bank robber and drug dealer has been jailed for 10 years by Judge Frank O'Donnell at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Graham Byrne (27), from Avondale House, North Cumberland Street, Dublin, pleaded guilty to robbing £2,800 cash from National Irish Bank on Wilton Terrace, Dublin, on March 6th, 1998, and £4,460 in cash and £1,125 in postage stamps from the Garristown Post Office, Co Dublin a week later.

Byrne and three other men armed with shotguns, knives and a sledgehammer robbed the post office.

He also pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply of heroin valued £10,000 on May 5th, 1998.
