The Ukrainian embassy in London has appealed for humanitarian aid for the people of the Transcarpathian region, which was hit by serious floods earlier this month.

More than 120 towns and villages, with a population of 400,000, were flooded following heavy rainfall. Electricity and communication lines were brought down and nearly 500 bridges have been partly or totally washed away, isolating several mountain regions.

The embassy can be contacted at 0044 171 7921708.
