An Post has been criticised by Fianna Fail TD Mr Sean Fleming for new guidelines on withdrawals from savings accounts. Mr Fleming said savers could no longer go into their local post office and withdraw the amount they have lodged there.
According to a new directive, he said, those in smaller post office seeking to withdraw more than £500 could only do so after their deposit book has been sent, with a completed withdrawal form, to An Post in Dublin.
