Extradition proceedings are about to be initiated to bring an American man to trial in connection with a murder in Galway city centre more than two months ago. Gardai have described as successful an interview with a Californian man about the death of Mr Malcolm O'Shaughnessy (22) in the early hours of August 1st.
Two gardai travelled to the United States to interview the man about the fatal stabbing, on Williams Street West, and it is understood that the man made admissions about his involvement in the incident.
