Valentine's day - Canadian men overwhelming prefer sex to chocolate, but only a slender majority of women agree, a St Valentine's Day poll in Montreal showed yesterday.
Around 57 per cent of women said they would rather have sex than eat chocolate against 85 per cent of men, the Journal de Montreal poll said. The poll of 503 people also revealed that 83 per cent of respondents believed in love at first sight while 87 per cent believed that love of another person could last a lifetime.
Meanwhile, inhabitants of the western Polish city of Poznan celebrated St Valentine's Day with a 300 kilo (660 pound) heart-shaped pizza, which they were invited to first admire and then devour.
In Minsk, an estimated 6,000 Belarussians took part in a simultaneous kiss that organisers said would land them a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
Police said at least 6,000 people attended yesterday's event, organised by local Guinness Book of Records representative Mr Nikolai Tretyakov and staged in a sports arena on the outskirts of the Belarussian capital.
