Malaga - An airline passenger smashed a vodka bottle over an air hostess's head after she asked him to stay in his seat, according to an official for Airtours International. The man raked her back and arms with the jagged glass which left her needing 30 stitches, in a frenzied attack at the back of the aircraft after it landed yesterday. Four passengers leapt on the attacker as Ms Fiona Weir (31), from London, staggered down the aircraft steps to escape but collapsed on the tarmac at Malaga Airport, Spain.

Spanish police arrested the man, who had been rowdy and abusive to other passengers. He had bought the bottle at a duty-free store at Gatwick but had not been given any alcohol on the flight.
