The Fianna Fail chief whip, Mr Dermot Ahern, is pressing Labour and Democratic Left to "come clean" about their stance on the former Fine Gael minister, Mr Michael Lowry.

He asked them if they would rely on Mr Lowry's vote to "cobble together" a multiparty government. Mr Lowry is con testing the Tipperary North election as an Independent.
