800 detained fleeing `hardship'

Ankara - Turkish authorities have detained 801 people, mainly Iraqis, trying to enter neighbouring Greece illegally in the last two weeks, the Anatolia news agency reported yesterday. They were understood to have been fleeing from economic hardships in their home countries, it said. - (AFP)
