Rennes - A mentally unbalanced man shot and killed four members of his family and seriously wounded another yesterday following a dispute, police said.
They said the man barricaded himself inside his house after shooting his victims in the hamlet of Verger, near Rennes in western France.
Police initially thought the man, 45 years old and unemployed, had fled the scene but discovered he was hiding inside his house after he fired several shots.
