Three men have been hospitalised in the North following the most recent paramilitary-style "punishment" attacks

Three men have been hospitalised in the North following the most recent paramilitary-style "punishment" attacks. A 19-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to both ankles in an attack in east Belfast on Monday night. The man was found in Edgar Street shortly after 9 p.m.

Two men, aged 34 and 18, were injured in a beating in Downpatrick, Co Down. A gang of three masked men armed with baseball bats and iron bars forced their way into a house on Colmcille Road before midnight on Monday.

One man in the house managed to flee, and the two remaining occupants were attacked. One received head injuries and bruising on his body. The second victim suffered a fractured wrist and ankle and stab wounds.
