TWO million stolen and contraband cigarettes worth around £300,000 have been seized by gardai and Customs officers in a warehouse in Coolock, north Dublin. Some 1.5 million cigarettes worth about £225,000, which were part of a consignment stolen from Dublin port last month, were recovered and returned to Player Wills. A file is being prepared for the DPP. About 500,000 cigarettes recently smuggled into the State were also seized, as well as a quantity of tobacco, beer, wine and spirits.
