HUARTE ARAQUIL - Up to 26 people were killed and more than 80 others were injured yesterday when a train packed with Easter holidaymakers left the rails in the Huarte Araquil district of northern Spain. Spanish radio said citing the rescue services.

Another three to five bodies were still trapped in the shattered train carriages. Local officials said 17 of the injured were in a serious condition. The train, on its way from Barcelona to the Basque town of Irun, was carrying 248 passengers, most of them Basques.
