A public meeting on gambling addiction was told yesterday that about 1 per cent of adult men were compulsive gamblers and that one in four compulsive gamblers were women. Mr Rolande Anderson, the Rutland Centre's assistant director, which treats gamblers, said most compulsive gamblers bet on horses and dogs and only 1
per cent gambled on the National Lottery.
