Our five favourite things to do in the Beara Peninsula

ALLIHIES COPPER MUSEUM
Allihies
Tel: 027 73218 Web: acmm.ie New museum which takes in the history of copper mining in the area. Perhaps not as interactive or dynamic as it could be, it nevertheless gives a good history of the local area during the 18th and 19th centuries.
DURSEY ISLAND
Dursey
No visit to the Beara Peninsula would be complete without getting the cable car to Dursey Island. Lots of activities on the island, including bird, whale and dolphin watching and the cable car runs 9am to 8pm during the summer months

BANTRY HOUSE AND GARDENS
Bantry
Tel: 027 50047 web: bantryhouse.com Lovely grand house, with spectacular gardens and a great history. Also hosts a music festival during the summer.
BANTRY BAY BOAT TRIPS
