EDC Keyring Kit
Any survivalists reading this (or preppers, as they're known) will be au fait with the EDC concept – it's shorthand for Everyday Carry, and usually refers to a set of pocket equipment or tools that you carry with you in case of emergency. For the more paranoid, this could be the prospect of some apocalyptic unfolding; others might simply think in more scoutish terms: bí ullamh. Be ready. So your EDC could range from a Sharpie pen to a penknife to a pistol. This Key Ring EDC is at the less out-there end of the scale, with a mini crowbar, a lighter, a pair of screwdrivers and tweezers. Perhaps not much use in case of a commie-zombie invasion, but perfect for an ickle splinter.

Smart Dog Lead
You could think of this as an EDC for dog lovers. It's an all-in-one dog multi-tool. Well, there's obviously a 5m (16ft) retractable lead for a start. Usefully, there's also a compartment for poop bags, with a couple of spare rolls, an LED torch, a treats hideaway (usually for the dog, but an emergency mini Mars bar could always come in handy) and even a pop-out water bowl. There's a digital clock too, but not quite sure of its relevance. Comes in a zesty selection of colours.

LaCie XtremKey
Although this could be a shoo-in on many an EDC shopping list, you don't need to be an end of the worlder to travel with one. LaCie's XtremKey is a super-tough USB memory stick, which is waterproof to 200m, can take 10 tonnes of pressure and survive at +200 degrees or -30 degrees. But frankly if you're so careless with your data storage in these sorts of conditions, you might be better to stay at home, 'cos you won't make it, whatever about your presentations, photos or playlists.
