This week saw the launch of ASOS Africa, the online retailer’s line in conjunction with Soko, a clothing workshop that works to create sustainable, fair employment and training and skills to workers in Kenya.

The range – worn last year by Michelle Obama on a trip to South Africa – is a collection of African print-inspired separates, from this striped parka jacket (€99.98) in oh-so-now lemon and grey to the high-waisted, 1950s-style bikini (shorts, €33.33 and bikini top, €33.33) in a graphic print. Items can be mixed and matched with pieces from within the range, or neutralised with more classic pieces, and what’s more, €5 from the sale of each item goes directly to the funding of Soko’s new workshop, and will be matched by the Asos Foundation.
