Ayuvastra is a new Irish textiles company specialising in bed linen, leisure and yoga gear, produced using 100 per cent organic cotton and natural dyes. Ayuvastra was founded by Ema Staunton, a textile designer from Dublin, and her partner, Aslam Noor.

Based on the traditional Indian medicine, ayurveda, which is native to Kerala, Noor's home in southern India, Ayuvastra is selling a range of clothing and linen from its website, ayuvastra.ie, in beautiful, dusty, earthy colours.

Staunton and Noor work in partnership with a South Indian weaving co-operative to dye their textiles using natural, medicinal dyes from plants that are grown organically in Kerala.

The entire process is free of synthetic chemicals and toxic irritants and is entirely organic and biodegradable, bringing a whole new meaning to the idea of eco fashion. Prices start at €24 for a baby sleep suit (pictured). Scarves are €25 and a bed sheet and pillowcase set is €75. ayuvastra.ie.
