Carrickmines scheme clearedAn Bord Pleanála has approved a plan by Parkway Partnership to build a residential development in the grounds of the 19th century Claremont House in Carrickmines, Dublin 18.

By granting permission for the scheme off Cornelscourt Hill Road, the planning board overruled its inspector's recommendation and overturned a decision by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. The plan is to refurbish the early 19th century Claremont House, a protected structure, and its gate-lodge, which is in a poor state of repair, and build 14 five and six-bedroom houses and 36 apartments.

Green light for Dalkey conversion

Wesley Curran's Otranto Properties Ltd has got planning permission from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council to convert a coach-house adjoining Santa Maria, the Dalkey house it bought for €10 million last year. The coach-house will be turned into a 168sq m (1,808sq ft) two-bed dwelling with a study. This involves adding two single storey extensions and a roof terrace. Otranto Properties Ltd has also applied to build 24 houses and apartments on a 1.45-acre portion of the two-acre grounds of Santa Maria, a protected Victorian house on Cunningham Road.

103 apartments for Dublin 12

An Bord Pleanála has granted Templeogue Synge Street GAA planning permission to build 103 apartments in seven buildings on grounds at Dolphin Park on Crumlin Road, Dublin 12, despite local opposition. The development also includes the construction of a new GAA clubhouse and a crèche. In their appeals to An Bord Pleanála, locals complained that the development would result in a loss of sports grounds, would exacerbate local traffic congestion, and said that high density housing was inappropriate on the site.

Mixed-use scheme for D6W

Verdon Hall Ltd is applying for planning permission for a mixed-use scheme of 95 apartments at the former Sunday Newspapers office on Rathfarnham Road, Dublin 6W as well as 436sq m (4,693sq ft) of ground floor retail and 416.4sq m (4,482sq ft) of first floor office space. The apartments would be in seven blocks up to five storeys with the offices at first floor level of one of the blocks on the corner of Beechlawn Way and Rathfarnham Road.
