Dublin publican John Keating is seeking permission to open a bar and restaurant in the former St Mary's Church at the junction of Jervis Street, Mary Street and Wolfe Tone Street in Dublin 1. The building is currently used as a home decorating centre. Mr Keating's plans include construction of a basement area for use as a kitchen, storage area and lavatories.

Meanwhile, An Bord Pleanala has refused permission to Lyngrove Developments to demolish a house at 54 Sydney Parade Avenue and replace it with six apartments.

The board has cleared the way for Zoe Developments to proceed with a new scheme which will include shops, car-parking and 42 apartments at Jervis Street and Strand Street Great in Dublin 1.
