New retail warehouses and offices proposed for Galway

Galway city is set to get more retail warehousing and office space off the Dublin Road

Galway city is set to get more retail warehousing and office space off the Dublin Road. Radical Properties Ltd, the company controlled by Gerard Barrett who handled the Edward Square and Kirwans Lane developments in Galway, has sought planning permission for 215,000 sq ft of retail and office space in two main blocks on the north of Lough Atalia, east of the intersection of Monivea Road and the Dublin Road. The 7.36 acre site is currently occupied by a mixture of retail units and a surface car-park. All but one of the existing buildings are to be demolished and most of the tenants will relocate to the new development.

Designed by Douglas Wallace, the scheme will also include a restaurant and a new access point off the Dublin. Douglas Newman Good Commercial will be handing the scheme.
