DUBLIN 11 - FROM €235,000:NEW SHOW units go on view this week at Hampton Wood - a large scheme of starter homes taking shape off St Margaret's Road in Dublin 11.
Located half way up St Margaret's Road, Dwyer Nolan Development's Hampton Wood will comprise around 1,100 homes on a 400-acre site when complete.
Building is at the half way mark and selling agent Hooke & MacDonald has sold around 400 homes so far. The scheme has been popular among first-time buyers.
There is a good range of house types, styles and sizes on offer with prices to suit most pockets.
Eight different show units will be on display tomorrow at the site - six different house types and two styles of apartments.
Two-bed houses with 75sq m (810sq ft) of living space are priced from €295,000.
Three-bed houses with 98-133sq m (1,060-1,430sq ft) are priced from €345,000 and four-bed houses with 121-134sq m (1,310-1,440sq ft) are priced from €365,000.
There is also a selection of one and two-bed apartments available.
One-bed apartments with around 46sq m (500sq ft) are priced from €235,000 and the two-bed apartments with 64-73sq m (690-790sq ft) are priced from €265,000.
Prices for apartments are slightly down on the last launch in March 2007. Back then one-bed units started at €250,000 and slightly smaller two-beds were priced from €295,000.
Located just north of Finglas village, St Margaret's Road - once home to farmland - is undergoing significant development. The area is around six miles from the city centre, close to the airport and adjacent to the M50.
St Margaret's Road has recently been widened and now has a new bus lane - a welcome addition for commuters. Previous schemes by Dwyer Nolan include St John's Wood in Johnstown, Naas, and Dun Emer in Lusk.
