Madison is a new shop that recently opened in Pia Bang’s former premises in Dublin 2. It’s hard to miss the shiny bright pink exterior chosen by owner Aoife Moulton, who recently returned to Dublin after studying fashion in New York. What you’ll find here, however, is mostly for the garden.
The stars of the shop are glazed terracotta plant pots that range in price from about €50 to €125. They come in rich colours and have classic motifs. There is also an interesting crackled glazed range, in turquoise or white, that is charming and affordable. Among furnishings, a small round table and two stools cost €250. For indoors, there are reams of faux flowers, and antique-style chairs that can be ordered in different paint finishes and fabrics. Madison, 2 South William Street, Dublin 2; tel: 01-6709840.
