THE NAME Ravinder Bhogal didn't ring any bells when I picked up her new book, Cook in Boots(HarperCollins, £18.99), but it transpires that the fashion and beauty journalist was the winner of Gordon Ramsay's campaign to find "the new Fanny Craddock" on his TV show, The F Word.
Bhogal, who described herself as "a greedy girl about town", beat 8,000 other cooks to the title, and went on to land jobs in TV presenting and radio. Her debut food book is a lavish production, offering straightforward, on-trend recipes with a strong Asian flavour.
