Aisling’s Picks: Stop make-up sliding off your face with a setting spray

This week we’ve got summer fragrance, a brilliant pore perfector and another Tom Ford must-have

Roberto Cavalli Paradiso (€47.00 - €88.90)

This is one of those fragrances that encapsulates the mood of summer. It is a light and fresh floral, with the citrus tones of bergamot and mandarin that always grab me and make me feel happy and relaxed.

The scent beds down to woodier tones while the bottle is a dressing table jewel, diamond cut and unashamedly glamourous.

Olay Total Effects Pore Perfector (€19.99)

Is it a serum or is it a moisturiser? It doesn’t matter how it is classified really as those of you with oily skin will find it light and matte enough to use on its own while drier types can layer it on under moisturiser or use as a primer.

Although nothing can actually shrink pores this formula contains niacinamide, an ingredient which is proven to calm inflammation and so will make pores appear more refined.

Fuschia Setting Spray (€20)

It is around this time of the year that makeup starts to slide off the face and feel hot and sticky.

A fresh mist like this one which contains moisturising and cooling ingredients can help to set foundation and keep it in place for longer.

L’Oreal Colour Corrector CC Cream for Blondes

The sun, swimming and things connected with the summer can cause brassiness and discolouration of light blonde hair and if you want to take care of those highlights that cost two weeks salary then this wash out masque might be exactly what you are looking for.

As a bonus this product will also work to tone down any discolouration in grey or white hair.

Clinique Sculptionary cheek contouring palette (€36)

Be not afraid. There are four colourways available and although they may call themselves contouring palettes they are not one of the scary types that involve drawing chocolate stripes all over your face. No, these are lovely softly shaded trios of colours which are easy to apply.

In fact you don’t even have to bother placing the different shades on different parts of your visage - you can just swirl all the colours together on a blusher brush, suck in your cheeks and apply. But don’t let anyone know I told you that.
