Kevin McSherry has started giving art classes in his Terenure studio. He will provide tuition to novice and intermediate artists alike. Students will be encouraged to discuss, question and learn from each other as well as from the tutor – but above all to enjoy themselves.
“My philosophy is to keep projects simple and small,” says McSherry. “It’s easier to concentrate on learning technique if the student isn’t daunted by a large expanse of blank canvas. That way, students can leave each term with a sense of achievement.”
There will be four sessions per week, two devoted to teaching still-life painting and two to guiding students with their own projects. Kevin McSherry has been a regular contributor of humorous hand-painted artwork to The Irish Timesfor more than a decade and has had his work shown in exhibitions in the Louvre and the Chester Beatty Library. The price for each six-week term is €120, but there is a "six classes for the price of five" introductory offer for new students of €100 for their first term. Details on artclassesireland.com
