This week, we catch up with Dublin-based make-up artist Ciara Allen. Ciara has worked on some amazing photo shoots, so it only make sense that some of that style translates into her own personal look. She goes for bold accessories and well- selected black basics.

This black backdrop allows the accessories to be the star of the show. She is brave with her choices and doesn’t shy away from bright and vibrant colours my favourite of which is her amazing neon hair. Check out some of Ciara’s work on ciaraallenmakeupartist.com.

Blazer: "I'm a huge fan of blazers because they make me feel dressed up for work but there's also a sense of power that comes from putting on something tailored. I got this one in New Look and it was about €35."

Stole: "My faux-fur addiction is borderline a problem because I just can't stop buying it. I'm a divil for a blazer and faux-fur combo. I feel like a mix between a 1950s screen goddess and someone who is about to take over. I got this one in H&M for €25."

Earrings: "My accessories addiction continues into earrings. Since I cut my hair short, I've become all about big earrings. The bigger the better. These ones are from Topshop and cost €14.

Jeans: "I've lost a lot of weight over the past year, so the fact that I can now go into a clothes shop and find a pair of skinny jeans pretty easily that fit me is still pretty mind-blowing. Black skinny jeans are my favourite – these ones are from Next and were €35."
