I hope you have survived January and are looking forward to February with renewed enthusiasm. As many budgets are stretched and yet more credit card bills arrive, today I feature two very inexpensive wines, not something I do often. I cannot promise the finest wines, but the two below are decent and drinkable with good varietal character.

Monte Mar Sauvignon Blanc Reserva 2025, Central Valley, Chile
11.5%, €7.49 (down from €14.99)
Light and refreshing with plenty of lively acidity and just enough ripe pineapple fruits. Drink by itself or with fish dishes.
