What is it? Supernature organic plant-based vegan-friendly chocolate and nut snacks (€2.29 RRP, 34g).
What’s good about it? When her daughter Laura was advised, at the age of 13, to stop eating dairy, wheat and white sugar, Noele McEvoy developed a chocolate snack at her kitchen counter that was so tasty that Laura’s friends began asking for them, instead of their normal chocolate and nut treats. McEvoy says she “came up with a chocolate recipe that Laura could eat without triggering her eczema”. It is made with just three organic ingredients, cacao butter, coconut sugar and cacao powder, and nuts are the only addition.
How do I use it? There are six different individually packed snacks in the range, all made with chocolate and nuts. The Hazelnut Cups won the New and Innovative product award at the Bord Bia National Organic Awards recently.

Where can I buy it? The Supernature range is sold in branches of Dunnes Stores, SuperValu, Tesco, Spar, Centra and health food stores and can also be purchased online from supernature.com. The range is also sold in Finland, Romania, Malta and Bahrain.
Anything else? Now aged 22 and studying psychology at Trinity College Dublin, Laura Roantree, for whom the snacks were created, has a part-time role as marketing executive with the company, which is run by her parents. Although they would like to bring the manufacturing of the range back to Ireland, the snacks are currently made in the Netherlands, where the company rents space in a chocolate factory.
