Don't you dare ask big brother Noel (right) about Oasis reforming – of that band's sibling duo, he reigns supreme as a solo artist, even if his music refuses to be in any way remotely inventive. His new album, Chasing Yesterday, is out next week. Special guests for both shows are Black Rivers.
SINGER-SONGWRITER
Ryan Adams
Opera House, Cork 8pm €44.05/ €39.05

US singer-songwriter, part mis- fit, part maverick, returns to Ireland to plug his latest self- titled album, which highlights the man's best work since 2008's Cardinology. Another reason to make an effort is Adams's support act – the superb Natalie Prass.
FUNK POP
Tuneyards
Vicar Street, Dublin 7.30pm €25
Back in the day, well okay about six months ago, when Tuneyards rolled on to the Body and Soul main stage at Electric Picnic, it was one of the most anticipated sets of the weekend. Merrill Garbus duly obliged with a commanding set of bewildering ability that, to paraphrase this newspaper's review, had to be heard to be believed: "No one else could make a ukulele sound like a weapon, and Gangster, Sink-O, Powa and Water Fountain are as infectious as Ebola."
Expect similar outbreaks of funk and fun when she shows Vicar Street who’s boss this evening.
