I live in Rathgar and cycle to work on Grand Canal Street Upper

I live in Rathgar and cycle to work on Grand Canal Street Upper. The Rathgar Road has a bus lane, which eases my journey for a few minutes. But the Rathmines Road is crazy for cars. The side of the road leading into the city is only partially covered by a bus lane, and at the canal junction it is a free-for-all, with cars turning left without indication and the subsequent squeals of bike brakes. In two and a half years, I have never been able to complete my journey without encountering some degree of road construction. So many times, I have nearly fallen off my bike going over uneven surfaces and avoiding potholes.
