A RARE book will be handed over to Trinity College Library next week. Entitled Original Designs in Architecture, by James Lewis, the two volume work was published in London in 1780 and 1797. No copy of it has been recorded in a library in this country. This copy was bought by the Friends of the Library for £2,300.
The handing over ceremony next Tuesday, at 7.30 p.m. in the Jonathan Swift Theatre Arts Building TCD, will be followed by a lecture, From Limerick to St Petersburg James Lewis' Original Designs in Architecture, by Dr Edward McParland. Admission £4, concession £2.
