Shabazz Palaces: Lese Majesty

Hip-hop artists may champion and salute their coterie of space cadets, but Shabazz Palaces are a much different set of far-side dreamers. Having already produced a psychedelic hit with Black Up in 2011, Seattle's Palaceer Lazaro (aka Butterfly when he was in Digable Planets mode) and Tendai Maraire return for a second voyage to touch the sky. Their canvas is widescreen, cosmic and deep, capable of hosting a mesmerising slew of effects, grooves and especially a slow, seductive, addictive bass hum.
