Alas, an actual reunion of the Brecker Brothers' seminal fusion band is out of the question since the death of younger brother Michael in 2007. But when trumpeter Randy Brecker started putting a band together for a new solo project, he instinctively called Brecker Brothers alumni to a man. Without meaning to, Randy, protests, he found himself with a reunion on his hands. Well, maybe. Still, those with an ear for the Breckers' muscle-bound brand of East Coast funk won't care how calculated this new band is.
