* TRACK OF THE WEEK: Gabrielby Joe Goddard. This here is a bona fide banger from Hot Chip frontman Joe Goddard. Glitchy and minimalist, while at the same time having a hook that's as infectious as the flu, it's one to press repeat on. Gabriel features vocals from London singer Valentina who you'd do well to keep an eye out for in the future.

* The only redeeming feature of Madonna's new film W.E. is that Madge is doing a load of press for it. Which means that we get to see her in full flow. It came to a peak earlier this week at a press conference, when a fan handed Madonna a flower, only for the Material Girl to make a face, and mutter "I absolutely loathe hydrangeas. * Though Lady Gaga often talks a lot of guff, we’re kind of thrown by her most recent statement to Harpers Bazaar. Speaking about wearing make-up, Gagz claimed that “I think that artifice is the new reality. It’s more about just being honest and sincere to the core of what you do. I think what has been lovely about my relationship with the public is that they expect something unexpected from me.” Expect the unexpected? False is true? If we didn’t know any better, we’d think she was having a laugh at our expense...

* Our favourite couple in pop are set to tie the knot. Marvin JLS and Rochelle Saturdays have exchanged “pre-engagement” rings, Marvin’s bandmate Oritse, explained: “[The ring’s] one step down from an engagement and kind of like a test before the real deal goes ahead.

“Marvin and Rochelle are really happy together. They’re great right now.” Marvin had previously spoken about the difficulties of being in a popstar coupling, adding that: “You can see them really every single day for a month and then we might not see them for a month. There’s never really a set time, that’s why you have to cherish your time you have got with them”.
