There is plenty to admire on the second album from Brooklyn producers Nick Weiss and Logan Takahashi. As on their 7AM debut from two years ago, Teengirl Fantasy's emotive, panoramic grooves are beautifully sculpted. Sometimes it's the very unadorned simplicity of the textures that have the strongest effect: End uses just some isolated, ghostly, eerie slivers of piano to create a delicate, evocative and melancholic piece that lingers long after the last note sounds. On other occasions, it's the assistance of guests such as Panda Bear (Pyjama), the excellent Laurel Halo (Mist of Time) or a superb contribution from Romanthony (Do It) who provide a track with its distinctive, memorable flare. When left to their own devices, the pair's own recasting of classic house styles can create hugely pleasant sensations, with lovely, timeless blurs knocking a winner like Vector Spray into shape.
