Featuring extracts from his best collaborations with David Lynch (notably Twin Peaks, The Straight Storyand Mulholland Dr) as well as his music for A Very Long Engagement, Cousinsand The City of Children, the collection captures Badalamenti's unique sound, a dynamic fusion of jazz and neo- romanticism that sounds at once classical and contemporary. The previously unreleased Inside the Actors' Studio suite is exquisite, and Who Will Take My Dreams Away, a collaboration with Marianne Faithfull, recalls Floating Into the Nightwith Julee Cruise, but now with tragic beauty.
