If it’s the first week of October then it has to be Hard Working Class Heroes. This beano has been going on for several years now, and there’s no doubting that it’s still an essential showcase for new Irish talent. In the usual corner there are more than 100 bands performing over the weekend – waaaayyy toooooo many to mention, but keep an ear out for the likes of Funeral Suits, Squarehead, Tieranniesaur, Little Xs For Eyes, Sleep Thieves, Last Days of 1984 and Seeping into Cinemas.

And, as always, HWCH has a few innovations up its sleeve, including photography exhibitions and industry seminars. Speakers include reps from the likes of Soundcloud and PIAS, as well as many people working in the areas of music supervision, booking/programming and AR. Oh, and not forgetting panel sessions covering areas such as Tips for Bands, Media, and Venue Festival Bookers.
