Statiscope no. 67 in the editions of June 10th presented data on educational expenditure as a percentage of GDP based on World Bank figures for 1990. A figure of 3.6 per cent was given for Ireland.

More recent OECD data would suggest a significantly higher figure. OECD Education at a Glance. 1995 gives a figure of 5.7 per cent of GDP for Irish educational expenditure in 1992.
