What do you enjoy about your commute? It gives me time to reflect and I also enjoy the interaction with others along the route. I have developed a routine at this stage in that I always stop and chat with Mrs Mac, who sells newspapers on Baggot Street; a particularly friendly Corporation worker who is always out early, and a number of other regular walkers. In fact I can almost set my watch by some of them depending on where I meet them along the route.

What bothers you most about your commute? The very dark mornings.

Would you change your mode of transport if you could? No, I thoroughly enjoy the walk.

How could your journey be improved? By having nice summer mornings all year round!

In conversation with Sylvia Thompson.

Trevor Sargent's journey time from Balbriggan to Dublin should have read 50 minutes, not 15 minutes in last Friday's Commuter Belt column.
