A COLLECTION of dolls and teddy bears will be on sale at the antiques and collectables fair in the Davenport Hotel, Merrion Square, Dublin, tomorrow, starting at 10.30 a.m. The toys, which formed part of an extensive collection owned by a Dundalk-based collector, date from the late 19th and early 20th century. The collection also includes a large doll's house.
Also on offer will be a rare flintlock pistol, believed to have been made around 1760, as well as a Black Watch Scottish army uniform and a number of other items of military interest. In addition, the fair will feature a collection of cameras, Victorian and Edwardian jewellery, linen and lace, china, coins and medal and a selection of small furniture.
Also tomorrow, the regular antiques and collectables fair takes place in Dublin's Newman House, opening at 11 a.m. One stand here will feature a collection of lithographs by Austrian artist, Oskar Kokoschka, who died in 1933, as well as a large selection of framed and unframed 18th and 19th century prints. In addition, the fair will contain a number of examples of antique fishing tackle, a selection of restored and refurbished stools and commodes from specialist dealer, Anne Cummins. There will also be jewellery and silver, porcelain, military memorabilia and old banknotes.
