Worldport Communications reported a net loss of $8.7 million for the first quarter of 2001

Worldport Communications reported a net loss of $8.7 million for the first quarter of 2001. Revenue for the period totalled $2.5 million.

The company, which provides Internet infrastructure solutions and which has an Internet data centre in Dublin, said first quarter results of operations are not comparable with results for the same period last year due to the sale of Worldport's telecommunications assets in January 2000.
