UK export confidence falls

Confidence among Britain's exporters is at its lowest level since the recession of the early 1990s, the latest DHL Quarterly Export Indicator shows. It said the impact of the strong British pound, the Asian financial crisis, and growing fears of a worldwide recession meant only 30 per cent of British exporters expected increased orders in the next three months. That compared with 34 per cent in the last survey released in May.
